Not all supplements are created equal.  And just because a supplement is natural and organic,  doesn’t mean it is safe in every situation. It’s important to be mindful of these sound practices when selecting any herb and other natural product:

** Look for high-quality supplements produced according to manufacturing. ***Best to get organic but know that if you have an extract in your herb it’s likely that that part of the herb is not organic. Now this doesn’t mean pests and microbials. Thus means chemicals, most are safe for humans but should be taken into consideration.

  • NSF manufacturing. Means fda reviewed manufacturing facilities.

Understanding Our Ingredients

 Active Ingredients:

Each of Nambu’s herb formulas has one main active ingredient, which is the herb. For example, Love & Grace Formula’s active ingredient is TULSI (aka Holy Basil), while the main active ingredient in Hi-Health and Shreem Brzee formulas is TURMERIC.  

We blend our primary, active ingredient with certain inactive ingredients to ensure freshness, stability and optimal absorption, based on the characteristics of the specific herb. 

 Inactive ingredients may include:

  • Cellulose: Capsule ingredient free from animal products, gelatin, wheat, starch & gluten
  • Maltodextrin: Small quantities used as a bulking agent. Natural sources include corn, rice or potato starch
  • Silica: Anti-caking agent
  • Rice Flour: Helps lengthen shelf life
  • Magnesium Stearate (Vegetable Source): Used in trace amounts as a binder\
  • Hypromellose

Here’s a brief guide to how we formulate our favorite herbs and best ways to take them for maximum benefit:


Bacopa benefits: Increases memory, concentration and intuition. Makes it hard to forget newly-learned information. Boosts exercise stamina. Fuels the brain with oxygen. Reduces stress.

Phonemes: Support the 3rd Eye Chakra.

How to use: Take 1 capsule in the morning with food. It may upset your stomach without food, so be sure to eat something. You can take it any time of day, but mornings are best because Bacopa optimizes your productivity and focus.

Active ingredient: Bacopa Monnieri whole plant extract.

Inactive ingredients: Hypromellose, rice flour.

Avoid when: Ask your doctor about contraindications. 



Turmeric benefits: Lowers inflammation. Supports digestion. Improves moods and productivity. Fights free radicals to protect the brain and body. Protects the liver.

Phonemes: Support motivation, self-confidence and the Navel Chakra.

How to use:

Active ingredients: Turmeric. Black pepper extract standardized for piperine. Piperine can increase the beneficial curcuminoids you absorb by up to 20 times.

Inactive ingredients:

Avoid when: Taking blood thinning medications. Take less frequently if you experience bloating, gas, loose stools or other gut problems.

Turmeric is generally considered safe and relatively free of side effects. However, if you take too much, you can suffer gastrointestinal issues like gas, bloating, and loose stools. Turmeric can interact with blood thinners and medications that lower blood sugar. If you have gallbladder disease or kidney stones.   Even the black pepper extract, or plain old black pepper, that comes with some Turmeric supplements, can react with medications.

Another active ingredient is magnesium carbonate. It’s a form of magnesium your body absorbs easily, and it helps a number of your body’s functions.

It comes in two forms: Tulsi extract and Tulsi leaf powder.

The leaf powder is standardized to 2% ursolic acid. This means you know you’re getting a consistent amount of this beneficial compound. Ursolic acid brings you some of Tulsi’s great health benefits such as stronger immunity, brain and memory protection, liver protection, insulin sensitivity and more.
